Tracine Smoot, PhD, Psychologist

Dr. Tracine Smoot co-founded Evidence-Based Consulting and is the Consultation Chair. She is a licensed psychologist who received her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah in 2000, with an emphasis on Psychological Assessment and specialties in Consultation and Neuropsychological Assessment. She supervised graduate students (consultants-in-training) at the University of Utah for 4years, and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in educational psychology, consultation, and behavioral intervention.

Dr. Smoot has 15 years of experience working with children and adults with mental health disorders and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, and youth treatment programs. She recently worked in Hawaii assisting in the development and implementation of an extensive evidence-based mental health treatment model for children and adolescents. She currently is the co-owner of Wasatch Learning & Development, a private practice that specializes in psychological assessment, consultation, and treatment of children and adolescents with learning, developmental, and/or mental health problems. Carl Smoot, PhD, Pscyhologist

Dr. Smoot received his Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Counseling Psychology with an advanced specialization in applied clinical neuropsychology. He completed an APA approved pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at Salt Lake Valley Mental Health. While there he worked with a diverse group of clients, including adolescents, families and older adults. He then completed a post-doctoral residency in adolescent mental health at Ho-okupono in Hawaii where he supervised three adolescent day treatment facilities for students with a variety of mental health and behavioral problems. Dr. Smoot has ten years of assessment experience and consults with a diverse group of mental health treatment facilities. His professional interests include: psychological assessment, program consultation, group therapy, and object relations. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Utah.

Prior to completing his graduate work Dr. Smoot was employed in hospital management. He successfully ran two inpatient psychiatry programs and was later a therapist at Youth Care, Inc., a highly respected residential treatment center for adolescents.
