  • Clinical & Family Services Coordinator

    Job Description: This is a full-time, year-round position. Primary responsibilities include scheduling; extensive communication with family, healthcare, and referring professionals; logistics and coordination of family program; processing paperwork and data; document generation; meeting management and additional clerical duties as needed. The position is part of the Administrative team. Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

    Min. requirements: High school diploma or GED. Two years of administrative experience in an office environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills; computer literacy; phone and clerical experience; attention to detail and organizational skills; team-oriented; good stress management; professional demeanor; flexibility in varying types and level of demands; positivity and enthusiasm; ability to work well with a team. Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (unless you are an internal candidate).

    Clinical Therapist

     

    Job Description: Open Sky Wilderness is seeking a full-time Clinical Therapist to join our innovative, holistic wilderness therapy program for young adults and adolescents based in Durango, CO. Responsibilities include: carrying a caseload of young adult clients; providing individual and group therapy; facilitating weekly phone calls with parents and referral sources; delivering clinical training to field guides; marketing, including attending national conferences; working 2 days in the field (1 overnight) and 2 days in the office.

    Min. Requirements: Clinical Master’s, Ph.D., or Psy.D. (Focus in family systems preferred); licensed, or able to be licensed, in UT and CO; minimum of 3 years' clinical work with individual, group and family therapy with young adults; wilderness therapy experience; openness to mindfulness aspect of program; presentation skills; computer literate; excellent verbal communication and writing skills.     Clinical Internship

     

    Open Sky offers clinical internships averaging 12 months in length through our clinical and family services departments. We strive to provide clinical interns the opportunity for a comprehensive, well-rounded experience of our program. Specific opportunities may include working closely with a therapist in the field, with students, on phone calls with parents, supporting Wellness Weekends and facilitating Family Quests. Interns should be motivated, self-directed and prepared to work and overnight (1-2 nights/week) in a remote wilderness setting in Southern Colorado and Utah in all seasons and conditions. Stipends may be available, depending on circumstances, experience, and length of commitment.     Transporter

    Transporter – Part Time.

    Job Description: Transport staff are responsible for welcoming, outfitting and driving students safely to and from our course areas. Company vehicles are used and transporters typically work in teams.

    Pay/Benefits: This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a variable schedule; hours may vary between 10-40 hrs./wk., depending on enrollment numbers. Compensation is $13-17 per hour, wage commensurate with experience; no benefits offered; a lunch stipend is often provided; Employee Assistance Program available.

    Min. requirements: 21 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent; clean driving record and valid driver’s license; First Aid and CPR; must pass CO and UT background checks; detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and professional demeanor; commitment to the safety and well-being of our students. Previous experience working with young people preferred. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical (unless you are an internal candidate).

    Transporter – Contracted.

    Job Description: Contracted transporters are the core of Open Sky’s Transport team. Contracted transport staff are responsible for welcoming, outfitting and driving students safely to and from our course areas, as well as helping to train new transporters. Company vehicles are used and transporters typically work in teams.

    Pay/Benefits: These contracted positions are non-exempt and feature a 6-month commitment from May 1st, 2017 to October 31st, 2017, and may be available for renewal. The contracted schedule features 3-4 scheduled weekdays of availability, weekends plus 1-2 weekdays OFF per week, 20-30 hours of guaranteed weekly minimum compensation - with specific numbers determined by which contract is offered. Compensation is $14-18, wage commensurate with experience; no benefits offered; a lunch stipend is often provided; Employee Assistance Program available.

    Field Guide 

     

    We are accepting applications for our May orientation (May 22nd-June 3rd, 2017). We are pleased to receive applications from highly qualified Field Guide candidates at any time during the year​ for these orientations.

    Open Sky typically holds four Field Guide orientations each year, in: January, March, May, and September. Additional orientations are occasionally held due to increases in student enrollment.  Candidates who are offered employment after successful completion of the orientation generally begin working in the field within 3 weeks.
