Jade Wimberly ND
Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Jade Wimberley received her BA in economics from Denison University in 1992, having spent a semester of her 3rd year in Geneva, Switzerland to pursue her interest in international relations and business. After college, she landed in New York, New York with Alex Brown and Sons, Inc. Though Wall Street was not for her, Dr. Wimberley did pursue her business and entrepreneurial interests with a small company based out of Southport, Connecticut: Environmental Data Resources. She quickly became a regional sales and marketing director with EDR, which entailed a move from the East Coast to Seattle, Washington in 1994.

In 1999 Dr. Wimberley decided it was time to pursue her interest in the medical profession. In July of 2000, she entered Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona and graduated in 2004. While in school, Dr. Wimberley was the student representative for both Gaia Herbs and Priority One. Both companies are known for their quality medicines within the holistic medical field. Working for these companies gave Dr. Wimberley a real world experience while being in the realm of higher education.

Shortly after graduation, Dr. Wimberley realized the Phoenix heat was too much to call Phoenix home. Dr. Wimberley had an opportunity to become part owner and founder of Zuma Natural Foods in southwest Colorado. In November of 2004, she joined together with a therapist to form the Heart Path House in Dolores, Colorado. The Heath Path House currently offers holistic health from numerous practitioners and Dr. Wimberley holds a five-year vision to offer extended, in-patient care. In addition to private practice, Dr. Wimberley is excited to join the staff at Open Sky Wilderness. Her passion for the wilderness, naturopathic medicine and working with adolescents and young adults makes for a perfect fit. Working in nature is a dream come true for her.

Dr. Wimberley is an active member of her community in Mancos, Colorado. She enjoys working with such events as the Manos Mush/ Silverton Slush, Mancos Balloon Festival, Bicycle Tours of Colorado, or simply eating and meeting with friends at the Absolute Bakery Cafe. If you can’t find her in Mancos, you might want to look in other places such as India, Hawaii or Thailand or maybe riding her Triumph motorcycle through the southwest. In addition to traveling, Dr. Wimberley enjoys doing work around her 87 acre farm, attending local music festivals, visiting family on the east coast, hiking in the surrounding mountains, finding waterfalls in the mountains or desert, and living the simple life. Enjoying the mystery of life is full-filling just on its own. Everyday there is a gift given to us by nature - our job is simply to slow down enough to receive it.
