Typical Day for Young Adultsdesert vista

Each week, the students generally spend five days out on expeditions exploring the canyon lands of Utah or the high mountains of Colorado by backpack. The other two days are spent at base camp doing laundry, getting food supplies, working on personal assignments, attending wellness lessons and meeting with their therapist. In order to maintain the continuity of the wilderness experience that the students have while on expedition, the Open Sky base camp is a simple living environment with platform wall tents and teepees and no electricity or running water*.
