Admissions Counselor Climb for Worthy Cause A Success!

Open Sky Admissions Counselor Stephanie Smith participated in her fifth Summit for Someone benefit climb.   

The benefit climb supports Big City Mountaineers. The mission of Big City Mountaineers (BCM), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is “enhancing the lives of under-resourced urban teens through transformative outdoor experiences.”

Stephanie helped raise over $11,000 for Big City Mountaineers.

BCM takes inner-city kids on week long backpacking trips. This was her 5th climb with them.

“We climbed and reached the summit of the North Palisade in the Eastern Sierra’s, 14,242ft. YIPPPEEEE! The weather was spectacular, the climbing was hard and reaching the summit was AWESOME. It took about 12 hours from base camp to summit back to base camp, and 3 1/2 days in total,”  said Stephanie.

She also would like to extend a big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone that supported her not just monetarily but emotionally and physically as well.
