Admissions & Outreach Team
The admissions team at Open Sky is comprised of caring and compassionate professionals. With years of experience in mental health and wilderness treatment, we are available around the clock to assist families during this stressful and challenging time. We believe that our number one priority is not getting a family to enroll at Open Sky, but to assist them in finding solutions for their son or daughter.
Director of Admissions & Professional Relations
Tere’s career in Admissions and Consultant Relations began in 1991. Having held leadership positions in therapeutic wilderness programs, boarding schools, and residential facilities throughout the past twenty-five years, Tere has developed a deep understanding of the practical and emotional challenges parents face as they navigate the admissions process for a struggling child.
Associate Director of Admissions
After teaching in a traditional classroom for several years, Susanna discovered her passion for admissions in 2012, when she began working at a therapeutic boarding school. Informed by her background in education, Susanna approaches admissions with a recognition of each student’s unique needs and is able to compassionately guide families through what can be an emotional and challenging process.
Tanya has had a life long passion for the outdoors and a belief in the power of holistic health, leading her to begin working for Open Sky in 2008. As an Admissions Counselor, Tanya is well-versed in all Open Sky matters and holds families with a gentle kindness as they navigate this challenging time.
Admissions & Business Development Director
Danny received his bachelor’s in business administration from Texas A&M University. He is a co-founder of Open Sky and has been involved in wilderness therapy since 1996. After accumulating over 700 field days as a field guide, he ascended into leadership and served five years as field director, including three at Open Sky. He now works primarily in business development and marketing and assists the admissions team as needed. With an easy-going nature and extensive wilderness experience, Danny provides students and families with a calming presence during a normally stressful time.
