Co-founder, Owner

Dr. Kettle has worked in a variety of social services over the past decade. She received her BA with honors in International Health from Brown University in 1997. During college, she ran her first peer education groups for at-risk adolescents. In her undergraduate and post-graduate years, Dr. Kettle did extensive international travel looking at various psychosocial factors that effect personal health and healthcare delivery. Dr. Kettle also learned from local traditional healers about the impact of the community on individual health. Before moving from Boston to Phoenix, Dr. Kettle was certified as a Reiki Master/Teacher in the traditional Usui system of Reiki, a Japanese healing art.

Dr. Kettle is a licensed naturopathic physician. She graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2004. Dr. Kettle believes that balance brings health, and through her work she guides people in restoring harmony to their body, mind, and spirit. After completing medical school, Dr. Kettle worked in private practice. Dr. Kettle also worked with patients at Body Positive, an HIV wellness organization in Phoenix, Arizona wherein she also utilized her Spanish fluency while working with the Latino community. Most recently, she completed the Wilderness Emergency Medicine course for medical professionals.

Since graduating from college in 1997, Dr. Kettle has worked with a wide range of populations in a variety of capacities. During medical school she worked at a domestic violence shelter providing counseling on topics like parenting skills and self-esteem to women and their children. She ran addiction prevention and life-skills groups for people living with HIV in Massachusetts.

During medical school, she developed a passion for going back to the basics: whole foods nutrition, exercise, sunlight and nature. She is dedicated to addressing each person as a whole, believing that the key to health is discovering the obstacles to wellness and learning how to overcome them. In her role as Wellness Director at Open Sky, she combines her enthusiasm for exposing people to natural living, the benefit of whole foods, and the healing power of nature.

In 2000, after living on the East Coast all of her life, Dr. Kettle relocated and fell in love with the openness of the Southwest. It was in this part of the country that she learned how to rock climb and strengthened her passion for hiking, camping and yoga. Over the past few years, she has been venturing into the colder mountains of southwest Colorado and is rekindling her relationship with winter! In her free time, if you can’t find her in the mountains, she is probably on a plane traveling to her next adventure.
