Coulter Stone, BS
Coulter comes to Open Sky with the intention to integrate his two passions: education and wilderness medicine. Coulter received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Redlands. Soon after, Coulter became a Wilderness First Responder and field instructor educating students in Grand Teton National Park. It was during this time he began to foster a love for medicine.
After 5 years of educating in the field, Coulter gained his Masters in Science Education from Western Governors University and started teaching in a small alternative independent school in Ann Arbor, MI, focusing on developing relationships, autonomy, and competence. While in Ann Arbor, he gained his Wilderness EMT certification from the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS and started working as an urban EMT.
Coulter is grateful for the opportunity to transition back to the wilderness with Open Sky. He is excited to thrive as a Field Medic through educating clients and staff in prevention and self-care as well as providing high quality care with the support of an excellent medical team. In Coulter's off time he can be found climbing, backcountry skiing, or backpacking in the mountains of Wyoming where he grew up.
