Open Sky’s support of our students and families extends well beyond graduation. Committed to the continued growth and success of our alumni students and families, we offer a range of support and outreach services.
Dedicated Alumni Programs and Staff
Within six months after graduation, an Open Sky Transition Mentor and Alumni Communications Coordinator check in with the parents via phone to find out how they and their child are doing. At any point after graduation, our Alumni Services Coordinator is available to help families navigate ongoing needs with informed referrals to Educational Consultants and mental health professionals throughout the country.
Weekly Parent Support Calls
Every Monday, alumni parents are invited to call in for an open conference call with our Family Wellness Counselor. The call includes guided meditation, mindfulness exercises and an ongoing opportunity for parents to ask any questions, provide any comments or feedback, or ask for or offer support to one another. It’s a simple but effective way for families to reconnect with Open Sky and receive some extra support, as needed.
Alumni Student reConnect Calls
The Thursday Night Alumni reConnect Call provides a platform for alumni students to refresh their centering skills and practice mindfulness techniques learned at Open Sky. Additionally, the hour-long call will include time for alumni to check-in. The call is facilitated by a family wellness counselor or primary therapist and takes place at 7:00 p.m. mountain time on the 3rd Thursday of every month.
