Open Sky’s support of our students and families extends well beyond graduation. Committed to the continued growth and success of our alumni students and families, we offer a range of support and outreach services.
Dedicated Alumni Programs and Staff
After graduation, an Open Sky Transition Mentor and Alumni Communications Coordinator reach out via phone (two times in the first six months following graduation) to check in with the parents and find out how they and their child are doing. At any point after graduation, our Alumni Services Coordinator is available to help families navigate ongoing needs with informed referrals to Educational Consultants and mental health professionals throughout the country.
Weekly Support Calls
Every Monday, alumni parents are invited to call in for an open conference call with our Family Wellness Counselor. The call includes guided meditation, mindfulness exercises and an ongoing opportunity for parents to ask any questions, provide any comments or feedback, or ask for or offer support to one another. It’s a simple but effective way for families to reconnect with Open Sky and receive some extra support, as needed.
Alumni Parent Wellness Retreats
Open Sky offers Alumni Parent Wellness Retreats throughout the year in locations throughout the country such as northern and southern California, New York, Colorado, Georgia, and Illinois.
