Building Relationships
The Family Care Coordinator is a family’s point person at Open Sky throughout their entire wilderness therapy journey. A friendly and familiar voice on the other end of the phone, they help families navigate their transition into wilderness therapy by overseeing a variety of important administrative tasks.
Managing Student File
Throughout each student’s stay, the Family Care Coordinators manage and track important paperwork, including medical information, immunization records, power of attorney, clinical evaluation, and all other legal, medical, and therapeutic history and documentation.
Updating the Parent Portal
Families at Open Sky have access to a secure 24-hour online portal, which provides resources specific to their child’s treatment. Through this platform, parents get to know their child’s treatment team, view photos and letters uploaded each week, and access all official documentation.
Family Care Coordinators are responsible for managing student photos and letters and sharing them to each family’s Parent Portal once a week. This is an exciting day for families, as parents get to see what their child is experiencing in the field, as well as communicate with them through letter writing.
