Open Sky is excited to offer a series of inspiring one and two-day workshops exploring the practical integration of wilderness therapy and wellness in today’s clinical practice. Open Sky’s traveling workshops are facilitated by Clinical & Family Services Director, Tony Issenmann, LMFT, Ph.D.Family Services Therapist, Kendall Smith, MA, LPC, NCC, and Family Wellness Counselor, Norman Elizondo.

 

Course Summary

Learn how to incorporate wilderness therapy principles into your practice and earn 8 CE Hours. With a workshop venues at an urban oasis, participants will explore and draw from nature and various evidenced-based, experiential practices. Be prepared for insightful instruction, invigorating activities, and opportunities for personal and professional skills development. Learning objectives include:

  • Understanding and using wilderness therapy principles and their practical application.
  • Develop personal and professional skills through experiential activities incorporating nature and wellness practices.
  • Explore and descibe the science and application of mindfulness, meditation, and yoga through a series of guided initiatives.
  • Share and collaborate with other professionals in the field of adolescent, young adult, and family mental health care for improved functioning and enhanced well-being.

Location:  Petaluma, California – Ions EarthRise Retreat Center

Date: March 7-8, 2018
Schedule: Retreat begins Wednesday lunch and ends at 3:00 PM on Thursday afternoon.
