Andrew West, BS

Accounting Clerk

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Andrew has always been drawn to the outdoors. After a few vacations to Durango to see the train, he experienced how beautiful the city and surrounding area was, which planted a deep desire to one day live there.

Andrew graduated with a BS in Accounting from Central Washington University. He then moved to the west side of Washington to work in commercial insurance for a program that focused on social service agencies and non-profits. Working with companies that wanted to improve the lives of those in their communities sparked a fire within Andrew to do the same.

Andrew’s parents also fell in love with Durango and had the opportunity to move there while Andrew was still at university. After receiving an invitation to join them in Durango, Andrew packed his car and headed for the area that captured his heart years ago.

When hearing of Open Sky and its mission to inspire people to live in a way that honors values and strengthen relationships, Andrew knew he wanted to be a part of their team. Using his knowledge and eagerness to find efficient means of working in finance, he continues to search for ways of lightening the burden of the Business & Administration Team to support Open Sky in fulfilling its mission.

When not working, Andrew can be found reading next to the Animas River, spending time with family, and exploring around Durango.
