Brenna graduated from Amherst College with a BA in Psychology. Wilderness therapy has played a major role in her life, as it helped her brother and family when he was a teenager. When she decided to take a break from medical school, she knew she wanted to learn more about the power of wilderness therapy. She found Open Sky and was excited to work at a program that places so much emphasis on family involvement and overall wellness.
Brenna enjoys living outside, learning and teaching others how to survive. More importantly, she loves using the elements of Open Sky to bring out and address patterns that have been destructive to her students and help them change. Within a guide team, she finds herself supporting her co-guides with her psych and medical background. She appreciates learning new skills from them as well.
When not at work, Brenna enjoys hiking, cooking, weight lifting, reading, and playing with her puppy, Walnut. She has the unique ability to answer any obscure trivia question about the periodic table and bacteria.
