Brittney Ahrens, BA

Human Resources and Office Administrator

Brittney joined the Open Sky Business and Administration team in March of 2019 as the Human Resources and Office Administrator. She comes from a professional background in rope rescue, marketing, freelance writing, and special and early childhood education.

Raised in the Front Range of Colorado, Brittney spent her youth escaping to the mountains to explore. Her love for the outdoors took her to Gunnison, Colorado, where she attended Western Colorado University and studied Organizational Communication and Sociology. During university, she grew an appreciation for steep mountains, adventure, and the healing power of the wilderness. Brittney truly believes in the wilderness as therapy and that we all have the power to thrive. After taking time post grad to travel internationally she eventually came back to the place that captured her heart earlier in her life—the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.

Now residing in Durango, Colorado, Brittney is an avid outdoor adventurer who appreciates the healing aspects of nature and the strength that it provides her. She has a passion for mountain running, sleeping in a tent or her van, climbing, and skiing. When she isn’t working or spending time outside, she is studying and sharing the gift of yoga with others through the Iyengar tradition. It is her pure love of life that keeps her exploring and pushing herself every day.
