Carly Miller, BS

Accountant

Carly Miller has experienced firsthand the healing powers that nature possesses.  She discovered her passion for the outdoors in the summer of 2018, during her first backpacking trip in the wild Alaskan wilderness. With only the food and supplies on her back, and good friends by her side, Carly started her adventure of self- discovery. This is what drew Carly to Open Sky Wilderness Therapy. She believes in working for a company that is aligned with her values and Open Sky is the perfect fit.  Holistic healing through immersion in nature can be so powerful and Carly is grateful to work for a company that focuses on every person’s ability to thrive.

Carly brings a diverse financial background to her role as an Accountant at Open Sky. A Colorado native, Carly was inspired to go to college at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge. Here she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  After college, Carly took a job at H&R Block as a Tax Associate.  She found a love for taxes and a thirst for financial education. Once her first tax season ended, Carly accepted a job as a Payroll Professional at The Payroll Department in Durango. She loved working with all the small businesses in Durango, inspiring her to start her own bookkeeping business. Through bookkeeping, Carly found her passion in working with company financials. Carly saw the accounting position at Open Sky as the perfect opportunity to use her financial skills to support a company that aligns so well with her values.

In her time off, you can find Carly roaming around the beautiful outdoors with her dog Opal. They love hiking, climbing, rafting, snowboarding, and fishing together.  Although the outdoors is where Carly feels most at home, you may occasionally find her curled up next to the fireplace, working on her current cross- stitch project.
