Chris Gerding, MBA

Purchasing Agent

Chris grew up in Farmington, NM (just over the border from CO), and spent much of her time in Durango, CO and the surrounding area. After she received her Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University, she wanted to move closer to home and relocated to Albuquerque, NM. While in Albuquerque, she found many opportunities within the Healthcare industry and worked on many angles within the industry: insurance side, the hospital side, and the delivery side.

She decided to pursue an opportunity with Primary Care in Durango in 2014. The clinic she worked for was one of the first to participate in the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program. One of the priorities of this program was integrating Behavioral Health into Primary Care. Because of this opportunity and further insight gained while understanding the benefits of the integration between the two, Chris feels that the Behavioral Health of all individuals plays a huge role in their overall health.

In the fall of 2019, Chris decided to make a change from her role in Primary Care. She learned about an opportunity at Open Sky and as she researched the company, she realized that this company is leading the way in alternative Behavioral Health therapies and was eager to join the team.

Her role with Open Sky is Purchasing Agent. She handles all the procurement of gear, food, and supplies to help Open Sky fulfill their mission to inspire people to learn and live in a way that honors values and strengthens relationships. She also assists with the maintenance of all the fleet vehicles within Open Sky to help keep all our employees, students, and families safe.

During her time away from Open Sky, she enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with friends and family, camping, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer with her wife.
