Family Care Manager

Claire came to Open Sky with a wide range of life, work, and educational experiences. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree in international studies from Claremont Graduate University. Claire was drawn to Open Sky because of her belief in the power of wilderness to bring about deep therapeutic growth, especially for young people. Before becoming the Family Care Manager, Claire worked for close to two years on Opens Sky’s communications and marketing team.

Throughout her life, Claire has worked in many fields including being a hiking guide in Italy, a professor at Fort Lewis College, and a ski instructor at Purgatory Mountain. More recently, Claire has held management positions in nonprofit and public health organizations. She finds her most meaningful work has been in fields focused on service to others. As the Family Care Manager, Claire manages the Family Care Coordinator team, oversees alumni relations activities, and continues to contribute to the communications and marketing team. In this position, she appreciates the ability to work across departments to achieve Open Sky’s impactful mission.

In her free time, Claire loves spending time with her family and getting outside to ski, camp, and paddleboard.
