Emily was drawn to wilderness therapy because of her desire to take her work in outdoor education a step deeper. Emily has been interested and involved in mindfulness practices and yoga since she was in high school, so she was especially drawn to Open Sky for its holistic approach.
As a senior guide, Emily values the opportunity to stay with a student every step of the way along their journey. As they work through their challenges, she loves to see student increase their confidence and begin to thrive. Emily's strengths are her empathy and awareness of the people around her. In a room full of people, she tends to perceive generally how everyone is feeling and if they are being genuine. This strength enables her to encourage, comfort, and check in with students as she upholds a culture of emotional safety.
Emily has a deep passion for downhill skiing and can be found on the slopes in her time off. She often spends winters working as a kids' ski instructor in Big Sky, MT. She also enjoys spending time WWOOFing, learning about all kinds of things on podcasts, and cooking big meals of vegetables.
