Emma Duke studied psychology and sustainability in college and has worked in many fields dealing with human health and planetary health. She has worked in environmental education with youth on farms and in wilderness. Emma loves both humans and wilderness. She describes combining these passions through her work in wilderness therapy as her bread and butter.
She was attracted to Open Sky specifically because of its holistic approach, the four directions model, and the locations of the course areas. She considers witnessing people embark on the vulnerable, beautiful, and challenging quest to become better humans to be a true honor.
Emma values learning alongside students and sharing her love for connection and wonder for beautiful places. She brings a lot of passion and creativity to the Open Sky team, especially in the realms of exploring the wilderness both within and around us.
During her time off, Emma enjoys dancing, cooking, reading, writing, wandering in nature, meditation, and adventuring with friends and family.
