Frank Tenorio, MSW

Therapist

Frank’s passion for vitality, growth, and service has inspired a multidisciplinary immersion in the fields of environmental studies, youth mentorship, community organizing, ecopsychology, massage therapy, expressive arts, and wilderness therapy.

As an undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, Frank started the Student Sustainability Association—a student led effort to bring more ecologically conscious decisions to campus and the greater Orlando community. Additionally, Frank took on leadership roles with two different youth mentorship programs where he supported programming addressing healthy masculinity and the development of neurodiverse populations.

While in graduate school at UW-Madison, Frank experienced a time of potent growth exploring his own familial, social, and cultural ecologies and the ways these systems shape his sense of self, behaviors, attitudes, and worldview. Fascinated with his findings, Frank found himself drawing connections between his new educational experiences in social work with his environmental studies undergraduate background. Frank’s curiosity led to an independent study course and self-designed internship, where he connected global issues of climate change, mental health, and social justice with the evolution of consciousness to highlight trends and opportunities for multidimensional interventions.

As part of the Family Services team at Open Sky, Frank seeks to apply the wisdom of his diverse background to the intergenerational healing of students, siblings, parents, and extended family. Frank finds supporting others in this work to be fulfilling in his commitment to supporting the transformation of human systems and deepening in his capacity to participate in the continuous evolution of his own familial system back home is Wisconsin.

Outside of Open Sky, Frank spends his time creating and performing psycho-spiritual hip-hop music, practicing yoga, participating in community events, and exploring more ways to support the transformation of human relationships towards greater harmony, synergy, and vitality.
