Hunter’s experience in the outdoors includes spending summers working in conservation and wildlife biology. He has also spent time in the Maine woods hiking and climbing in Acadia National Park.
The time Hunter spent in wildlife conservation led him to wilderness therapy and his desire to care for others in a natural setting. Open Sky’s emphasis on mindfulness attracted him to the program, as well as the beautiful landscapes of Colorado and Utah.
Hunter appreciates the ability to grow as a leader in his role as a field guide. He understands the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries and creating safe spaces emotionally for students in the field. Hunter deeply values teaching mindfulness practices and sharing his musical gifts as part of the therapeutic process.
In his free time, Hunter enjoys making music with his band, reading, meditating, slacklining, foraging, cooking, and practicing tai chi.
