Born and raised in historic Durango, Hunter grew up enjoying the mountains. Whether hunting, fishing, camping, playing sports, or running around in the yard, the outdoors always brought a smile to her face.
Hunter became the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Fort Lewis College in just three years. She gained basic counseling skills, allowing her to counsel struggling college freshmen and local at-risk youth. This experience ignited her passion and deepened her desire to work with people.
Since joining the Open Sky team in early 2016, Hunter has been a part of our Administrative team providing assistance to the Clinical and Family Services department. As Family Care Coordinator, Hunter provides support to families during their transitional journey. She is a welcoming resource for any needs a family may have during their child’s time at Open Sky.
Outside of work, Hunter spends her free time volunteering as a youth mentor, crafting artwork, snowboarding, paddle boarding, hiking with her dogs, and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer. She enjoys being surrounded by the great outdoors, close friends, a loving family, and a vibrant, welcoming community.
