With a Bachelor’s degree in adventure education, Ian's educational focus was wilderness leadership, human development, and place-based environmental education. He has been a student at NOLS and outward bound, and he worked as a camp counselor and group facilitator at multiple summer camps. Ian was drawn to the field of wilderness therapy by his passion for wilderness exploration and the natural world's innate therapeutic impact.
As a field guide, Ian values the opportunity to empower individuals to develop tools for building themselves up from their lowest lows to their fullest potential. Within a guide team, Ian brings tenacity to move through each moment with determination. He thrives as a collaborative leader within his guide team and strives to empower co-guides.
In his free time, Ian enjoys fly fishing, cross-country bicycle touring, trail running, exploring wild places in general, and making art.
