Joe Goldbloom, BA

Senior Guide

Joe Goldbloom’s prior experience includes working as a water safety instructor and attending ALE and Montana Academy. He was the captain of his collegiate rugby team and led backpacking trips for his rugby team and outdoors club. He also led a tour for teens across western North America. Joe believes in wilderness therapy with 100% of his heart because it saved his life, and he is inspired to give back more than he takes.

Joe loves Open Sky for its amazing structure, organic food, and family system approach. He values fairness and mutual respect with the students. He takes the time to tell them why and how he does the things he does. Joe brings energy, motivation, and fun to the guide team. He is very open to feedback and likes to check in consistently with his team.

Outside of his work as a guide, Joe likes cards, chess, skiing, surfing, disc golf, mountain biking, hiking, seeing friends, and trying new foods. He also loves to travel when he can.

About Open Sky

Since 2006, Open Sky Wilderness Therapy has been providing the premier family-centered wilderness therapy experience. The Open Sky approach transcends traditional wilderness therapy by emphasizing treatment for the whole family not just the adolescent or young adult, and the application of evidence-based clinical modalities with innovative, well-researched holistic healing practices such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness.
