Leah Dworkin, MA

Assistant Field Director

After receiving a Bachelor’s in History and a Master’s in Education from Lehigh University, Leah followed her passion for teaching. While teaching history in the Denver Public School system, she yearned for something deeper. She heard about Open Sky from a friend. Knowing she wanted to continue working with teenagers, she applied for guide training and was impressed by the inspiring work that took place in the field.

Leah values how much she’s grown and learned from the work of field guiding. She has never been so challenged in so many ways. The tools she used in the field have brought positive change and growth to the lives of the students, as well as to her own life. One of Leah’s strengths is her attention to detail, organization, and specific goals. Her experience as a field guide has prepared Leah to take on the role of Assistant Field Director. In this role, her focus is on guide training and development.

When not in the field, Leah enjoys, mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, traveling, kickboxing, and guitar.
