Leah Muller

Senior Guide

Leah Muller grew up in an outdoorsy family and has always valued the power wilderness holds to change people’s lives. She has experienced the profound impact of wilderness herself and is inspired to share this magic with other humans. Leah’s prior experience includes participating in a gap year program that focused on nonviolent communication and living in conscientious communities. This experience highlighted how much she loves learning and inspired her begin working as a field guide for Open Sky. She loves the idea of humans going back to the basics and living together in a community out in wilderness. She also loves Durango and the surrounding area, as well as Open Sky’s focus on mindfulness and spirituality.

As a field guide, Leah appreciates the opportunity to model vulnerability and encourage it in others. She believes that by sharing her whole heart, she is inviting others to do the same. She also encourages others to be playful and practice love and gentleness with themselves. She is particularly inspired by witnessing adolescent girls build self-efficacy through their time in wilderness.

During her time off, Leah loves hiking, backpacking, skiing, climbing, highlining, and going on other various adventures in the Four Corners region. She also enjoys travelling internationally and spending time with the people she loves.
