Lori has dedicated her career to supporting families in crisis with kindness and compassion. Having held senior leadership positions in several highly regarded residential and therapeutic wilderness programs, Lori has a deep understanding of the client experience and the components necessary to support meaningful change.
Lori values Open Sky’s exceptional team culture and shared desire to deliver quality service at every turn. As Communications Director, she develops communication strategies to support our core values and mission. An unwavering commitment to quality, creativity, and attention to detail are the hallmarks of Lori’s approach. She manages social media platforms, branding, collateral production, and website development. She also provides support across the organization to ensure that events, workshops, and materials accurately represent Open Sky’s unique mission.
In addition to her work in wilderness therapy, Lori served as an advisory board member for STICC (Saving Teens in Crisis Collaborative), where she co-founded a successful annual golf event to raise funds for young people who urgently need but whose families cannot afford therapeutic treatment.
Lori and her husband are “empty nesters,” with a daughter who graduated with her degree in Psychology and works at a psychiatric hospital and a son who is Social Worker at an elementary school. In her spare time, Lori is drawn to anything creative. She loves refinishing old furniture, cooking, and “making things” in her beloved craft room. She enjoys spending time during the winter in Durango and cherishes the rest of the year in north Idaho, camping and boating with friends on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille.
