Matt Jordan, BA

Field Manager

Matt, a graduate of Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, studied adventure education and has always found the wilderness to be a place of growth and healing. Before joining Open Sky in 2020, Matt worked for a summer camp called Avid4 Adventure. He helped start their expedition camp in 2019.

Matt was drawn to Open Sky by its family-centric approach, making it a collaborative experience for all involved. As a Field Guide, Matt values the personal connections he is able to make with students. He enjoys getting to know them, coming alongside them in struggles, and watching their growth week by week. His strengths are his dynamic and flexible presence, and his strong willingness to step into any situation. Matt likes to have fun and play games, and strives to add to the guide and team culture.

During his time off, Matt enjoys outdoor sports like climbing, biking, peak bagging, skiing, and boating. When he’s not adventuring, he loves to tend his vegetable garden.
