Morgan Robak, LCSW

Clinical Therapist - Adolescent Boys Group

Morgan earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After completing a 30-day backpacking/packrafting trip through the Alaskan backcountry, she developed a love for the outdoors and gained knowledge of how nature and wilderness can assist individuals in their mental, physical, and emotional growth. She was introduced to wilderness therapy when she became a field guide. This experience gave her an understanding of the daily activities and value of the field staff who are working with her students. After her time in the field, Morgan knew this type of therapy was effective, and she wanted to continue to be a part of it. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work at Colorado State University and has been working in the field ever since. She believes working with nature and all it has to offer is what can make the change happen.

In addition to her wilderness work, Morgan has experience in foster care and residential treatment. She uses CBT and DBT approaches while working with her students, as well as a strength-based approach. She manages to hold strong boundaries while also building a relationship based on trust and care. She practices yoga on her free time and believes it can be helpful for her students to use yoga and mindfulness to draw connections between what is happening in their bodies and working to be more congruent with what they think, feel, and do.

Alumni Parent (2018)

“Morgan was honest and she always advocated for our son's well being. She helped me see the work that I NEEDED TO DO, all the while supporting me. Morgan was accessible, patient, generous and kind. I owe her a debt I can never repay.”

When Morgan is not working, she is exploring with her dog and partner. They spend their time climbing, hiking, backpacking, and listening to the lessons that nature has to offer all of us.

Alumni Parent (2017)

“Morgan was a pro in every way. The most stand-out quality of her care from my point of view is the trust she established with our son, which allowed him to engage and grow. Her calls always included individualized care for my husband and me. She helped our family. We are enormously grateful. Words are inadequate.”

Alumni Student (2018)

“I'm thankful that Morgan pushed me as hard as she did. Nobody has before.”

Alumni Parent (2017)

“Morgan created an environment of trust and challenged and taught us how to grow as our son was in the program. I can't say enough about her ability to connect with our family.”
