Nitsan Mesika, MA, LPCC

Therapist

Nitsan grew up in Israel, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics with a minor in psychology from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, with honors. Nitsan worked in the global tech industry from 1992 through 2006 as a senior software engineer and project management officer in major tech companies. Throughout these years, she felt a growing pull to work with people on healing relationships and improving communication in the workplace and beyond.

Nitsan’s path changed course when her daughter was born in 2006. Nitsan then began to focus her attention on community building, world schooling and unschooling practices, attachment parenting, and environmentalism. Nitsan and her family lived in three different countries and four states, experiencing a variety of communities and cultures.

Nitsan is spiritually Jewish and an active leader and mentor in rites of passages for preteens in her spiritual community. Nitsan loves learning and immersing in faiths and philosophies that help people thrive and grow as individuals and in communities.

Through the trials and tribulations of life, Nitsan experienced firsthand the magical healing powers of nature. While completing a master’s degree at Naropa, a contemplative graduate school for counseling, Nitsan worked as an intern at the Naropa community counseling center, providing care and therapy to adults during the Covid-19 pandemic. Nitsan joined the Open Sky team in June 2021.

Nitsan brings into her new role a vast curiosity for human nature, human experience, and the adaptive, creative ways humans use in their lives. She strives to show up as a compassionate and experienced journey-companion, walking with clients along their own paths toward their own version of health and thriving.

Nitsan enjoys hiking, backpacking, kayaking, climbing, camping, paragliding, and reading to keep herself healthy and grounded.
