Olivia (she, her, hers) fell in love with playing outside in the middle of her college career, when she left New York City—where she was attending college—for California. She spent a summer surfing, rock climbing, and backpacking, and never looked back. She completed her college studies at Reed College in Portland, Oregon where she could continue her outdoor adventures and learn how to be a leader in the wilderness.
Olivia has worked as a mountaineering instructor for the Colorado Outward Bound School, and an outdoor education instructor in California before becoming a field guide for Open Sky in 2019. As a guide, she used her enthusiasm and desire for fun to build rapport with students, while letting her kind, loving heart and listening ear deepen relationships and hold students to a high standard of integrity. As an interim Family Care Coordinator, Olivia enjoys supporting families throughout their journey at Open Sky and uses her field experience to guide her work.
Rock climbing is Olivia’s main passion. She can most likely be found scrambling up a rock somewhere, making food with friends, or trying not to fall off of her stand-up paddleboard.
