Tess graduated from SUNY Morrisville in the heart of gorgeous Upstate New York. She has a love of working with people and everything to do in the wilderness. Having found her own recovery and growth in the wilderness, she feels a great deal of passion to pass that gift on to others.
She loves watching the “A-ha!” moments when students find beauty in a rainy day, gratitude for a meal of GORP and peanut butter, or love when they may feel unworthy of it. For Tess, witnessing these moments is the most valuable part of being a field guide. Within a guide team, her strengths are bringing energy to share with everyone, appreciation for those she works with, and love for all things.
Her life out of the field is similar: lots of camping, campfires, and days spent in the sun. With whitewater canoeing as her favorite, she’ll paddle any day. Rock climbing and trail running are a close second and third. She also enjoys watching romantic comedies and knitting while drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows.
